Inspiration - Folk Feathers
I spotted this beautiful motif within an intricate overgarment from Northern Epirus. (The gold parts are actual gold thread!)
I’ve since decided to call it Folk Feathers even though it has nothing to do with feathers, but it has such an ethereal form.
I find it fascinating spending time examining Greek folk garments and embroidery pieces as the craftsmanship is just exceptional! Such beautiful work is so rear to come across in our times.
That is exactly why I love reviving these motifs in modern designs and prints, to help them continue being part of our everyday lives!
